On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, the Kentucky USGBC will hold its Annual Advocacy Day at the Capitol in Frankfort. Volunteers are needed to help the Chapter meet with legislators about upcoming legislation supported by the Kentucky USGBC and related to sustainability and Green Schools. Please consider supporting the Chapter
Kentucky USGBC’s Advocacy Day will support legislation and policy that is important to the Chapter, as well as the Chapter’s broader vision “to improve the health and welfare of all Kentucky citizens through a sustainable and responsible built environment.” With your involvement, you can practice the Chapter’s mission to “educate and promote the design, construction, and operation of buildings and the built environment in Kentucky that are responsible places to live, work and learn.”
Volunteers for the KY USGBC 2014 Advocacy Day will meet at the Capitol on Tuesday, March 18, for a full day of advocacy. The day will begin with training for the volunteers, followed by group meetings with legislators based on the attending members’ Senator and Representative. Meetings with legislators will last until 2 p.m., when the legislators go into session. Once in session, volunteers will be given the opportunity to observe the session.
