Thursday, February 25, 2016
Spend Thursday, February 25, 2016, at the Capitol in Frankfort speaking with lawmakers and other USGBC members about initiatives and legislation that promote and advance energy independence, energy conservation, green buildings, and livable communities.
Legislative advocacy is a vital component of our Chapter’s outreach program and vital in influencing policy that advances the mission of USGBC to innovate, educate, and advocate for a more sustainable built environment.
Advocacy Day starts with an orientation at the Capitol Annex from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Each person is assigned a group(s) consisting of 2 to 3 members. Each group will typically attend 3 to 4 meetings with legislators between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. There is an optional breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and an opportunity to observe a session of the State House of Representatives afterwards from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
